Jason Scotland and goal-a-game midfielder Keith Andrews scored the goals as the Blues came from behind to beat 10-man Leeds United 2-1 at Portman Road. The visitors dominated the first half and went in front via Ross McCormack, but after the break Leeds had Aidan White sent off for pulling down Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Scotland and then Andrews’s deflected last-minute strike saw Town to the points.

Academy manager Sammy Morgan has paid tribute to part-time schoolboy coach Paul Cosson, who died yesterday after battling cancer. Cosson was with the Blues’ youth set-up for 11 years, in addition to his full-time job as an engineer.

Academy midfielder Jon Leddy has been named in the Republic of Ireland U17 squad for two friendlies against Serbia in Wexford on Tuesday 13th and Thursday 15th September. Leddy, who has previously won caps at U16 level, was amongst this summer’s intake of first-year scholars.
